Republican President Edgar Lungu must with immediate effect sack corruption accused Infrastructure and Development Minister Ronald Chitotela, Copperbelt opposition NDC Vice Information and Publicity Secretary Moses Chisha has demanded.
“Under the circumstances we are painting a very bad picture to the donor Community keeping Chitotela in office whilst facing corruption charges. We demand that he is sacked with immediate effect,” urged Chisha.
And Chisha has implored the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to quickly expedite the process of bringing into book corrupt serving government officials.
“ACC should expedite the process of bringing all the corrupt elements in the patriotic front govt to book and not only a selected few from a certain region of the country,” said Chisha.
The Anti-Corruption Commission last week arrested the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Honourable Ronald Chitotela, and charged him with 9 Counts of possession and concealing of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Mr. Chitotela, 47, has been charged with one count of Concealing Property suspected of being proceeds of crime, and 8 counts of possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime contrary to Section 71 subsection (1) of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act Number 19 of 2010.
