A 37-YEAR-OLD male nurse of Muzeyi Rural Health Centre in Chipangali district of Eastern Province has died in an accident which has also seriously injured two teachers of Mchenja Primary School.
Kennedy Kanungwe died on the spot yesterday after failing to negotiate a curve and lost control of the Vitz he was driving upon which he hit into a pavement causing the car to partially fall into Kasupe stream near Chipata fisheries office on Mfuwe road in Chipata.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwata Katongo confirmed the accident which happened around 04:30 hours as well as Kanungwe’s death.
“The injured are female Ketty Nyawali aged 45 years, a deputy head teacher at Mchenja Primary School, male Simon Banda aged 31 years, a teacher at Mchenja Primary School and female Kebby Makungu,” Katongo told # Kalemba in a statement.
Katongo revealed that that the three injured accident victims are admitted to Chipata Central Hospital.
