POLICE in Muchinga Province have arrested four suspects linked to the attack on an albino woman who had her fingers cut and a tooth yanked out in a suspected ritual attack. Sara Nsomfwa, 73, of Kabulamwinkoko village in Mpika district, was attacked on Thursday last week.
Muchinga Province commissioner of police Joel Njase said in an interview yesterday that the four suspects were arrested on Saturday and have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm. Mr Njase said police officers have also recovered the tooth that was removed from the victim.
“We have withheld the details of the suspects to allow for further investigations, and police will arrest anyone connected to this act,” he said. Mr Njase said the attack on the woman is inhumane. The attack on the albino has saddened Albinism Foundation of Zambia (AFZ) executive director John Chiti, who called on stakeholders to help curb the vice
