CAPITAL Buses Company owner Ishmael Kankara says the decision by the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) to allow the use of Noah buses as public service vehicles is endangering passengers’ safety.
Mr Kankara told Millennium Radio that formalising the use of Noah buses for public transportation in the name of youth empowerment was misplaced because the material used by manufacturers was of low quality, are comprised passenger safety.
He said Government was also contradicting itself by allowing the use of Noah buses while at the same time trying to phase out buses without seat belts which were safer than the Noahs.
Mr Kankara said the Noah buses operating illegally as public service vehicles were depriving Government of revenue because they did not remit any tax to the Zambia Revenue Authority.
