UPND’s Aubrey Bampi Kapalasa has won yesterday’s Katuba Constituency by-election beating the ruling PF and UPPZ candidates.

Kapalasa polled 8,727 against Mwachilele Zax’s 7,024 while UPPZ’s candidate Mangeya Bertha was with 120 votes.

Returning officer Felix Banda declared Kapalasa duly elected member of parliament for Katuba Constituency early Wednesday morning.

Kapalasa replaces Patricia Mwashingwele who died on May 2.
