Some section of society opposed to the National Dialogue Forum (NDF) resolutions should utilize the second window or Parliamentary Committee to have their views taken on board.
The Parliamentary Committee is the best forum for them to present their views on specific constitutional clauses they are opposed to.
The Constitutional amendment Bill no 10, which was recently presented to Parliament, contains resolutions arrived at by consensus of the NDF.
We do not expect patriotic Zambians to shun the on-going consultative, all-inclusive people-driven constitution-making process as it is meant to improve Zambian people’s welfare.
We are alive to the fact that Zambians have confidence in the Parliament’s mandate to enact laws that can address all their concerns.
We are appealing to all Zambians from all walks of life, including Members of Parliament (MPs), civil society organizations, the Church, traditional leaders and politicians to embrace the constitution making process in order to come up with a national document that will stand the test of time.
