Retired Munali Teachers Arrested For Criminal Trespass

FOUR retired teachers at Munali Secondary School who were ordered to vacate the teacher’s compound following the expiry of their eviction notices have been arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

A stranded civil servant Emmanuel Mubanga who had illegally built a house within Munali Teacher’s compound has been arrested together with three others by the police over their failure to move their property.

An eye witness who sought anonymity says the police brutally attacked Mr. Mubanga before taking him to the police.

A check by Diamond News found Mr. Mubanga’s wife Charity with her three children stranded and unsure of what step to take following the arrest of the family’s bread winner.

Lusaka Province Police Commissioner Nelson Phiri has confirmed the arrest of the four retirees saying they have been charged with criminal trespass for resisting to vacate the premises.

On Thursday morning a combined team of State and Lusaka City Council Police demolished a number of illegal structures at the school.
