Amanda Nkonde Bags ZNBC ‘I Can Sing’ Competition, Walks Home With K110,000 & a Keyboard

The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation singing reality show dubbed ‘I can sing’ season 1 yesterday came to an end with Amanda NKonde declared winner.

6 year old Amanda was crowned winner beating 9 others including her older brother Lemyani.

Amanda won K10, 000 initial Prize money and a Keyboard Courtesy of ZNBC.

Competition main sponsor, My Home Town then gave Amanda K100,000 making the 6 year old queen K110, 000 rich in an instant.

My Home Town has also sponsored Amanda and her Mother for an all paid for holiday to Johannesburg.

Her brother and closest rival Lemyani came second walking away with K80, 000 and a guitar.

Wana Kanyembo got the third place and took home with her K53, 000 Prize money.

The other seven in the top ten walked away with K1000 each and a certificate of participation.

Meanwhile ZNBC Director Programmes Rosemary Chumpuka has announced that season 2 of the competition will be a national one.

She noted that season one had majority of the participants from Lusaka and only a few from other towns.

Ms. Chumpuka further called on the public to start registering their children for the second season of the competition.

In the early stages, the competition had over 100 participants and was downsized to 30 the the final 10 that took part in the Grand Finale held at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre on Sunday 22nd September, 2019.
