THIEVES on Monday broke into Indo-Zambia Bank at Crossroads Mall in Lusaka, blew the vaults with explosives and got away with an undisclosed sum of money.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwata Katongo confirmed the theft saying, the criminals entered the bank through the roof around 03:00 hours of yesterday.
“So it was a breaking into a building with intent to commit a felony. They entered through the roof and blew the vaults and got away with sums of money that are yet to be quantified,” Katongo said in an interview.
She said no arrest had been made but police had instituted investigations revealing that the security guard who was on duty at the time had since gone on the run.
