The Zambian DNA is calling on political party leaders across the political spectrum in Zambia to provide leadership by advising their cadres and general membership to desist from engaging in acts of political violence and disturbance of the peace.
We have noted with dismay, how some desperate and power hungry politicians are perpetrating and promoting violence as part of a scheme to agitate for regime change.
President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and the PF Government have the people given mandate to govern this country until 2021, we expect all other political party leaders to respect that and desist from engaging in activities likely to put this peaceful country on fire.
In view of the foregoing, we call upon the Zambia Police Service and other security wings to maintain law and order, safeguard property and save lives by bringing to book anyone found wanting regardless of their status in society.
In conclusion, we call upon the Electoral Commission of Zambia, who have the mandate to manage elections in Zambia, to ban political parties that engage in the promotion of political violence.
