Contractor Suffers Stroke Due to Non-Payment Of Over K800, 000 Owed To Him By NRFA

The Consortium of Local Contractors and Allied Suppliers on the Copperbelt says it will soon engage the National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) to ensure the speedy payment of over K800, 000 to Kapilikiti Investment Limited.

This follows the proprietor of the construction firm who has developed a partial stroke due to the pressure he got from credit institutions that gave him resources for the execution of road works as a sub-contractor under Copperfield on the pedicle road.

Speaking when the consortium visited Mr. Peter Mwape in Mufulira were they donated K2000 to Mr. Mwape’s family to help with logistics, Consortium Chairperson, John Chilupula said it is unfortunate that Zambian contractors have been neglected to this end.

Mr. Chilupula is saddened that Mr. Mwape had developed stroke owing to the failure by NRFA to pay him his dues amounting to over K800, 000.

And Mr. Mwape who narrated his ordeal through his wife Mary, said all he wants is to be helped get the money so that he can clear his debt.

Kapilikiti Investment Limited is owed a total of K844, 212. 51 by the national road fund agency for sub-contracting works on the pedicle road and has not been paid since last year.
