Govt Clears Air On Payments Made to Eskom For Power Imports

Government says the Cost of the Imported Electricity from Eskom in South Africa has been paid by state power utility company Zesco and not the central government.

Responding to Criticism that Government has not been Transparent in the Power Purchase Deal from Eskom, Energy Minister Mathew Nkhuwa has told Phoenix News that Zesco used its Earnings from Mining Companies to pay Eskom Money for Power Imports.

Mr Nkhuwa says there is nothing to hide about the Power imports Deal because everything has been done transparently.

But Finance Minister Recently Disclosed that government had paid the 27 million us dollars to Eskom
