Zambian DNA congratulates the ruling PF for scooping the Milenge Council-chairperson seat in the just-ended by-elections.

We also congratulate the opposition UPND for winning the Ilambo-Ward seat in Lupososhi District.

It’s gratifying to note that the PF’s conduct was peaceful and orderly despite losing a Council-Ward seat in their stronghold.

We hope that the UPND has drawn valuable lessons from the PF’s exemplary conduct in their strongholds, and will similarly start conducting violence-free campaigns in their strongholds.

Indeed, the PF campaign manager for Milenge Council -chairperson by-elections, Dr Chitalu Chilufya, was spot on for stating that democracy was the victor as the poll results reflects the vote and the will of the people of Milenge.

All in all, we salute all the stakeholders, including the voters who turned up to cast their votes, Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for conducting transparent free and fair polls and election monitors.
