An accountant at MTN Zambia PLC who sued a police officer and the Attorney General in the Lusaka High Court demanding K800, 000 compensation for alleged illegal imprisonment and torture after his arrest has withdrawn the matter from court.

In this matter Hamanyanga Kaseele sued the police officer for unlawful arrest and illegal torture.

Kaseele in his statement of claim filed in court alleged that he was tortured by way of handcuffing him and beating him on his body, legs and head with an iron bar and shot button.

He was claiming compensation of K500, 000 for torture, pain, internal injuries and chest injuries.

He was also claiming compensation of K300, 000 for wrongful arrest, false imprisonment and detention and any other reliefs that the court may deem fit.
