ANGRY residents of George Township in Lusaka on Saturday damaged a shop belonging to a Rwandan who allegedly abducted a 13-year-old girl and defiled her in his store. The residents, who found the girl in the shop, where she spent two nights with him, damaged it and looted groceries, but the [suspect] managed to escape.
The girl allegedly went to buy snacks (Giggies) when he allegedly locked her up in the shop. The victim’s uncle said in an interview yesterday that on Saturday, his niece went to buy the snacks at the shop, where she usually goes. He said the victim left home around 12:00 hours and only returned around 03:00 hours on Sunday. And the girl said on the material day, the suspect locked her in the shop, where he allegedly defiled her and only let her go after he heard people shouting and trying to break the door.
