Cops Clobber Bus Driver, Insult Journalists

There was drama this morning at the round about along Kafue Road when two defiant police officers verbally attacked and beat up a bus driver before getting into confrontation with Tumfweko Journalists on what is supposed to be Police’s Day.

 

On the fateful morning, the bus driver annoyed the police officers after his Toyota Hiace rammed into their unregistered metallic black Mercedes Benz.

This was in full view of on lookers and Tumfweko Journalists covering the ordeal were harassed by police officers who were in a rebellious mood.

 

When Tumfweko journalists rushed to the scene, they found a calm male senior police policeman believed to have been controlling the traffic at the roundabout struggling to restrain the female officers from manhandling the distressed bus driver.

 

The driver was visibly shaken and intimidated by the two female police officers who had earlier dragged off the bus before becoming physical on him

 

Upon noticing that the journalists were capturing the ordeal, the female officer in uniform charged at the journalist and demanded to have the video footage deleted from his phone. when the reporter refused to hand over his phone, the officer wrestled to forcefully retrieve the phone from his hands even after the two reporters introduced themselves as journalist. However, the male policeman pleaded with the journalist to delete the video and he obliged accordingly.

 

Meanwhile, the other female policewoman in plain clothes also charged at the other reporter, pulling him by his clothes whilst lashing out threats that they would have the two taken in custody.

 

Her unpalatable language went like this: “…What journalist? Do you know how much this vehicle   cost? We are Police officers. We are going to lock you up,” threatened the officers, “You are invading our privacy. Get out you Mother F***” insulted the officers before driving off after being satisfied that they had accomplished their mission.

 

Luckily, the journalist managed to get a short clip of the escapade from one of the onlookers who said he could not capture the whole incident saying “…uuum ni baziba ba police ba pa Zambia. They would have grabbed my phone too.”
