Government will not bar Chinese nationals from entering Zambia in view of the corona virus outbreak as such a move is tantamount to promoting xenophobia.
Presenting a ministerial statement in parliament today,Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya says a contigent fund of K50 Million has been established to enhance preparedness for any possible outbreak of the virus in Zambia.
Dr.Chilufya has appealed to citizens to maintain high levels of hygiene and all public places should have handwashing facilities.
And Dr.Chilufya has disclosed that government will not repatriate Zambian students studying in China as measures have been put in place to safeguard their health.
The corona virus has so far claimed 3,219 lives across the world and Zambia has not recorded any case of the virus.
