Zambian DNA welcomes African Union (AU)’s recognition of Zambia as one of the few proactive countries in scaling up the preparedness response for COVID-19 even before it recorded its first case.

We also commend President Edgar Lungu and his Government for demonstrating a tacit commitment to fight the deadly COVID-19 pandemic that has earned the country’s seat on AU’s recently created COVID-19 Coordinating Committee, whose mandate include among others, mobilizing resources, equipment and medical supplies to help Africa put up a united response to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are confident that Zambia under the able leadership of President Lungu will double its efforts in the fight against the deadly disease and greatly benefit from being an active player and taking part in strategic planning meetings.
