We have noted with concern that some citizens are making contributions or donations to the fight against COVID-19 pandemic to their preferred institutions without following the laid down procedures.
Whilst citizens’ contributions or donations to the fight against COVID-19 pandemic are welcome, they should be made via established channels such the Ministry of Health and Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU).
It’s for this reason we wish to advise citizens to liaise with the relevant authorities when making donations so that their gifts reach the appropriate beneficiaries.
We commend those patriotic citizens who have so far made contributions towards the fight of COVID-19 pandemic, and encourage other citizens to join the fight against this deadly Coronavirus disease by making their contributions.
