Zambian DNA welcomes Mopani’s decision not to place the mine on care and mantainence following Government’s timely intervention.

We also commend President Edgar Chagwa Lungu for his swift intervention to save thousands of jobs for miners and those of contractors.

We are confident that the planned talks between Government and Mopani will indeed yield the desired results.

We therefore, appeal to the affected workers and contractors to remain calm as Government has already demonstrated that they are concerned about their plight and welfare.
