Government has suspended school fees in public schools when they reopen for the next term.
Early this year, both public and private schools were ordered to close prematurely due to the outbreak of Covid 19.
It is not yet known when schools will reopen as the Covid 19 cases are on an increase.
General Education Permanent Secretary Jobbix Kalumba has directed public school authorities to avoid asking parents or guardians to pay the fees when schools reopen.

Dr. Kalumba says government is in the process of reviewing the examination school calendar adding that all examination classes remain suspended until further notice.

He has also urged private schools to consider suspending the school fees .

Dr Kalumba said this during a joint press briefing held at the Ministry Of Information.
