A SEVEN-DAY prayer and fasting period against the coronavirus has been launched by the Church in collaboration with the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs under the theme ‘Help from above amid the coronavirus’. The prayer and fasting period will run from May 11 to 17 and will see the Church conducting prayer sessions on television at 06:00 hours, 12:00 hours and 18:00 hours daily. The preaching will run side by side with sensitisation messages on the need to adhere to health guidelines given by the Ministry of Health.

Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) chairman Bishop Paul Mususu said the fight against the coronavirus cannot be won with dependence on only science but it also needs God. “If the President, who is Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, declared coronavirus as a war, then we are indeed at war,” he said.
