SATA Says One MP In Western Province Is A Refugee

Republican President, Michael Sata says one Member of Parliament in Western province is a refugee.
And Sata also revealed that he plans to ask British Prime Minister David Cameroon to extend the stay in Zambia of the British envoys.
Sata made the statement about the unnamed MP being a refugee at State House on Tuesday when he met the Archbishop of Anglican Church Rowan Williams who wanted to know the position of the Government on refugees.
In saying that Zambia will continue hosting refugees, Sata claimed that one refugee was elected a Member of Parliament in Western Province after the MMD government provided him with a national registration card and voter’s card.
Earlier, Sata told British High Commission to Zambia Carter that he would ask British Prime minister Cameron to keep him and his wife Carolyn Davison longer in Zambia.
Mr Carter shares his position with Ms Davison as double high Commissioners.
The two envoys escorted the Anglican church leader to state house.

Western Province is a complex society. We went to the same schools as our colleagues from Mayukwayukwa refugee camp. They enjoyed the same privileges, and today many of them are contributing to Zambia and Angola’s development. sneaking them in parliment, however, is diabolical.

Easy to meet Presidents in Africa. You mean that bishop cant be dealt with one of Sata’s secretaries or a minister to clarify issues affecting refugees or to explain refugees’ status??? Zambia has been known to be a host of a number of displaced people from the region with little assistance from the UN. How the hell, for goodness’ sake, can a bishop of fimo fimo fly all the way from the UK to come and discuss such issues with Sata?? I find this very repugnant!!!!! Such matters need to be discussed with relevant dignitaries from the UN.I ve met a number of refugees from Africa in Australia and some of them have green NRCs WITH LICENCES they obtained using corrupt means. So am not surprised to read that a refugee was voted as an MP. lETS CLEAN THE MESS!!!!!!!!!

Hey its is not the UPND Antonio guy in Kaoma Central. It is some chap in Mangango Constituency. This should not surprise us Zambians at all. We have had PRESIDENTS, not mere MPs from across borders. If we seriously scrutinise all our leaders in power now we might find Congolese, Tanzanians, Malawians, Mozambicans, Zimbabweans, Tswanas, Namibians, Angolans and British. Editor, just a point of correction:
The Archbishop Rowan Williams is indeed an archbishop in the Church of England (or Anglican Church), but he is NOT Archbishop of Anglican Church.
The title is Archbishop of Canterbury.

Just thought your journal and yourself, Editor, need to be schooled on that one. Thanks.
