The Opposition MMD party says it will not allow the lifting of the constitutional immunity of former president, Mr. Rupiah Banda on the basis of rumours or unfounded allegations.
National Secretary, Major Richard Kachingwe said that the party will also fight all forms of dirty schemes designed to weaken the party.
Maj. Kachingwe also said that the calls to lift Mr. Banda’s immunity are premature and are based on unfounded allegations and unknown evidence.
“As a party, we will only table that matter before the NEC after we see credible investigations”. He said.
“Look at the issue of the Toyota Lexus. Is the President a procurement officer? Does he handle his security outfit such as cars? How can anyone call for the removal of immunity based on such allegations?” He wondered.
Mr. Kachingwe also reiterated his party’s commitment to a good working relationship with fellow opposition party the United Party for National Development (UPND).
“We will not frustrate the PF government in its effort to bring new policies or govern the country. However we will not allow oppressive laws, or bad policies.” He said.

Yes this is true mr kaching. PF needs to act more mature and formally when it comes to legal issues. This is not their party they are running. You can not just issue statments from left right and centre which do not even match and then call for lifting of immunity. Atleast during mwanawas they formally tabled all the alleged crimes through the courts and then sought to lift immunity. PF learn that when it comes to law there are no short cuts like you bus drivers are used to. On a more personal note.. banda should have married a white woman, she would have been of more support.. thandiwe looks lost and unable to even know what took place during the 3 years. White women will always be proactive in the support they give their man. she was just eating and knitting chitenges. thats why am married to white woman. life is good

Do you know what is happening? MMD and UPND want to work together for selfish interests.
1. To protect RB from facing the law
2. To frustrate the policies of PF lead govenment
3. Hakapuba Haka (HH) thinks he can use MMD to ascend to presidency

Bring RB down?? what the fcuk are you talking about? RB went down immediately he lost the elections.Plunderers should be brought in to answer for their crimes. This is Public funds we are talking about not a personal fortune.PF should start with the minions because they have no immunity and start moving up the ladder to the bigger fish.

RB naimwe ba Kachingwe was stealing in broad daylight, thus, making it incomplex to lift his immunity, easier to arrest, simpler to be tried and be convicted. It’s only the lawyers with their ****** arguments who may make the wheels of justice turn so slow in order to milk some of his loot before they start pleading the court for leniency. Many of the corrupt activities by those closer to him were done under his directives. Tapali ifyo mwingatubepa ba chairman, just shut your beak.

RB’s immunity must b lifted with immediate effect to allow thorough investigation, yes I’ve seen his supporter’s comments, but hey guys this is our monies we are talking about. Maybe you guys supporters of Rupiya never used to pay tax in his tenure of office. For one thing is true we start paying tax even when we are in our mothers womb. So ba KACHiNGWE ifyo mulelanda tafikwatemo namano! RB must answer all the question & give adequate documentation for him to be free.

a lexus vehicle you say? doyou live in zambia? do you see how a common man, woman and youth suffers. anyways I am not surprised at your trivialising the issue(and cost) of the vehicles RB got becoz you are out of touch with reality (in other words you are insane, mwalipena) little wonder you lost the elections and the republican presidency, you are good at political masturbation, trying hard to make yourselves feel good even when normalcy would dictate otherwise. very soon you are going to cry together with the alabee you are trying to defend. if you are a true blue you should be looking forward to an MMD without alabee, that self-confeessed unipist who has destroyed your party.that grey hair, I thought, comes with wisdom!

Advice to Major Kachingwe: There may be a lot of things that you may not know about surrounding our fourth president. What you may know are only issues in the public domain, others were on a need to know basis. It is better to keep quiete and wait and see. It would also be wise for you to let RBs spokespersons do the talking lest you burn your fingers and get deported to malawi

I’ve held Mr Kachingwe’s political journey in high esteem and proactive, but his recent views about the current affairs in mother Zambia are surprising. If Mr Kachingwe really cares for his MMD let him strive to see beyond political masks of RB and HH

A political consultancy firm in Ecuador required the services of a Chief Lazo and thus advertised the post. Among the many applicants were two Zambians, Banda, an Easterner and Hefty Jay, a Northerner. On their way to the interviews they discussed possible questions and agreed on a framework of answers. On arrival Hefty Jay was the first to be interviewed and the same questions as discussed were asked.
Here is how the interview went:
Panel: Who is the world’s most famous footballer?
Hefty Jay: It was once Maradona but now it is Ronaldo.
Panel: When did your country gain it’s Freedom?
Hefty Jay: Efforts started in 1960 but finally in 1964.
Panel: Is there water in Mars?
Hefty Jay: Some say so, others not, but it is not scientifically proven.
Panel: Why do you think we should give you the job?
Hefty Jay: Well, I have the experience, expertise and I am good at it.
Cont’d.

The clever Banda memorised only the discussed answers, not the questions as discussed in the plan.
Panel: Who is your father?
Banda: It was once Maradona, but it is now Ronaldo.
Panel: When were you born?
Banda: Efforts started in 1960, but finally in 1964.
Panel: Your CV shows that you have 12 children, why that many?
Banda: Well I have the Experience, expertise and I am good at it.
Panel: Are you mad?
Banda: Some say so, but it is not scientifically proven!

Kachingwe you can talk and even bark, you do not have a say in parliament and your barking will always remain at the MMD NEC. The MMD members of parliament are more interested to work for the people of Zambia than you and RB’s unwarranted schemes. You cannot surely dictate your members in parliament to do that which pleases you. You and RB have failed the MMD principles and you have even tarnished the name of MMD which many member of parliament from your party are so angry about. Look what happened when choosing the speaker of the national assembly, you mistreated the honourable members and made them sleep out of their home to prevent them from communicating with their fellow in government, but did that work and did you succeed? The members will not serve your cause but the cause for the people who voted for them in parliament. Therefore, Kachingwe you do not even need to answer to the rumours, just wait for the official motion to be tabled in parliament then you can bark. Otherwise you are fighting a losing battle!

Kachingwe, hold your fire. RB/MMD crimes are not for opposition MPs to judge. The Zambian people will be the ultimate judges. Do not provocate us. UPND/MMD MPs are too small and weak to stop 13 million Zambians’ demand for justice. Do not dare us on criminality committed by a few selfish, greedy politicians. Kachingwe, we know you are supporting HH to get RB fixed with a view of installing HH as pact president. Only you and HH talk of removal of RB’s immunity – Sata has not yet mentioned it; WHY?
