Embattled former republican President Rupiah Banda’s son James Banda has been nabbed and bundled into a police cell at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka.
Tumfweko has not yet established whether he was trying to flee the country or was checking in.
Two men in grey suits and one in a navy blue were seen and have appeared to ferry James Banda who had been detained in police custody at Kenneth Kaunda Airport in Lusaka.
The three men that moved with him to complete his clearance to the plane are believed to have been his lawyers.
James Banda is believed to have been destined for Democratic Republic of Congo in Katanga province at governor, Moses Katumbi this afternoon.
However, our staff on the ground is keeping vigil of whats happening there.

PF govt is still using opposition mind to govern the country. Most of the allegations are wild and unfounded. They have taken rummer to be part of their policy and lies, as party of the governance styles. But lies dont work in governance. Lies they may work in delivering an election victory but not governance, NEVER!!!
Until they receover from opposition mentality (I hope they will) they will be going back and forth in decisions; they will be rushy and propagandaistic. They will continue to play the role of opposition against themeselves for periods of lapses when they will forget they are in govt.
It will be of great help if it will take them shorter time to realise that leadership is not in promises, but results; not in pronouncements but action; not in lies but truth. Yes, not in lies because it is very easy to obtain an election victory based on lies but not easy to govern based on lies. This does not, and obviously will not work.
PF is the only government in the history that of mankind that has called upon workers to feel free to protest countrywide in order to air their grievances not knowing that the consequences of such would have to be addressed by themselves.
I pray that change will slowly begin to be part of PF, and especially the president (who I think has a static personality and likely not to shift a little in conduct). If reasonable change does not occur, then we may see much disorganisation in leadership and those ministers who may feel governance needs organisation, soberness and planning may begin to quit their positions. This will affect PF’s popularity as a party. The many promisses they have made are an oversight and a snear to themselves.
The downfall of PF lies in their lack of planning and projection in the things they SAY and DO. The biggest opposition to PF is PF itself because each day they work up, they dont know whether to govern, or to oppose, or to support or criticise. There policies are usually unco-ordinated to an extent where on minister say the one and another says the other.
But I call upon all christians to pray for the PF government, because while they are busy making quick moves and backtracking at the same time, time is being lost, in some cases we are being taken backwards and generally as a country we are at a loss. So for the sake of peace, prosperity and progress pray for those in authority.

@William Mulenga,
Why do you want me to shut up?
SATA was third in command in Chiluba govt, when MMD was supporting UNITA’s Savimbi; should he today say that the MMD did that for their personal interest and greed. Then in your view, who was greedy? is it not SATA and his MMD collegues of the then (Chiluba) time?
Who was involved in MERZAF saga? Was it not SATA?
Who deposited govt funds in personal a/c to earn individual interest? Was that not SATA? Was that not greed? Even when you close your eyes and stop thinking, is that not too obvious – that in saying greedy people, SATA referes to himself?
Who championed the third term bid for Chiluba and spearheaded the Nakwala matchet mascres? Is it not SATA?? Even if your memory has suffered setbacks, we can still help you recover if you are willing!
How many legal flows has SATA made in half a month in his appointments and nominations? Do you need to be given medicine to recover from being cheated?
Will you support everything just because you love SATA? For your own info, I may love SATA more that even you – but will I agree with everything he does including wrongs? NO!!!
Dont behave like you lads who have found themselves in the so-called love, and their eyes can see no more because their feelings have taken controll of their agenda! You may be a serious PF supporter, but that is no excuse for resigning from thinking and exhibiting rationale.
Allow yourself to be overconsumed by the euphoria of PF election victory. Change is good and we all need it, but we must ensure we are changing for the better.
When SATA says sweeping and cleaning the cobwebs what does he mean? Does he not mean victimizing those he thinks belong to MMD or other parties except PF. Or dont you know that almost all nurses could openly state they were supporting PF without fear or favor? Is that not being partisan? is he gona chase them for supporting PF openly or he will follow those supporting other parties?
Even when sleep in high in our mind, let us try our best to wake up. In 1991 we were consumed by change and the celebration took us too long, what did we get as a result? We forgot to provide checks and balances and spent too much time on honeymoon. We forgot that marriage had already come and that we needed to awake to reality early enough. By the time we were waking up, it was very late Chiluba, SATA and friends had messed us up. And these are the same people we have recycled but we have the courage to hope that they will give us different results – Oh!! I see!!

It is amazing that some Zambians have short memories to be so consumed and elevet Sata to a position of saint. Worse still when advice is advanced to prompt Sata and his PF misgivings are conceived as sour grapes. Some have gone to lengths of aproving to what ever says and does whether wrong or right, Zambians got to hang. What not only a dangerous dellusion but uncivilised individuals who create dictators. We the progressive will not sit idle to be overcome by primitive thinking that lacks rationale. We do recognise Sata as our president but will not allow him rule like a farm in Chief Chitimunono area of Zambia. We will remind him of his duties that include not to breach the republican constitution and honour his oath and pledge to Zambias. Those that expect Sata to be showered with praise on his shortcomings and successes will have a shock of their lives. At the rate things have gone so far, we have a duty to oppose strongly on any errors we detect if need be escalate it at international level. For we are civilised.

Fine. You are speaking to people that are not ready for what you have to say. Say the exact thing a year from now and I know you won’t have as many insults as today,if any. You are a sound thinking man. You are looking ahead, but people are still in the moment. Once they see the justice they want and the euphoria clears. More will respect your thoughts. Democracy is a mindset. Its new to us, we’ll learn from our mistakes. Unfortunately.

That’s true “fine’s message is not popular because of the timing, I’m not an MMD supporter myself but I respect a person that thinks beyond the present day. opposing thoughts and opinions should be welcomed, they are what make up a democracy. Once upon a time everyone sang MMD’s praise after the 27 yr unip era, Now we are singing PF praises after 20 yrs of MMD so it’s like a pattern Certain views are best appreciated at specific times.

Excuse me but not everyone who speaks Bemba is actually bemba!! Bembas insult too much nabani? people insult in a language that they are conversant with and one that most people are likely to understand. if someone is Lozi by tribe and they insult in Lozi the likelihood is that not many people will understand it, but if that Lozi person swore in a language like nyanja or Bemba ,two languages that are more widely spoken and understood not only by bembas more people will understand. So don’t be a shallow thinker and accuse all of us Bembas of being uncivilized when u have no way of proving nifwebo tu tukene insele. Have you never been to lusaka and found a Mr Hamooba speaking nyanja or been to the copperbelt and met a mr Akashambatwa speaking Bemba? Not these unnecessary pronouncements about lexus vehicles which won’t put food on the table.
