Renard Threatens To Quit If His 6 Months Arrears Are Not Paid!!

Herve 'The Fox' RenardWITH 48 hours before Zambia faces Ghana in a crunch 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier, coach Herve Renard has dropped a bombshell that he will quit the Chipolopolo job if he is not paid his six-month salary arrears this monthend.

This comes at a time when the African champions, who dropped to sixth in Africa and 43rd in the world in the latest FIFA monthly rankings, are trying to redeem themselves in the World Cup qualifying campaign after last weekend’s 0-2 loss in Sudan.

Renard told French sports newspaper, l’Equipe that he was getting frustrated with his predicament as trainer for the continental champions.

He said there was an incredible lack of respect and consideration for him and that if nothing was settled before the end of this month then he would leave the Zambian job.

Renard said after winning the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), he decided to stay in Zambia despite other big offers because he wanted to qualify the Chipolopolo to the World Cup finals.

“I have not been paid for six months. After the Africa Cup, I took the decision to remain with the group, despite other big offers. I planned to go to the World Cup.

“ That’s life, I’ve learnt my lesson. There is an incredible lack of respect and consideration. Enough is enough. If nothing is settled before the end of June, I am leaving,” the Frenchman said.

When contacted yesterday at the squad’s training camp in Ndola, Renard said: “So you know! It’s already in the media. But now I want to concentrate on the Ghana match.”

But FAZ president, Kalusha Bwalya said he was not aware of Renard’s quitting threat but that he would talk to him when he travels to Ndola today.

Renard got back the Chipolopolo job last year in November from Italian Dario Bonetti, over a year after leaving Zambia in April 2010 to take a more lucrative two-year deal in Angola.

he has a right to quit especially if we continue to think that win is cheap, other countries who wel informed about financial management and markets, know wht it means to invest, the man is just venting his frustration and that shud send a msg if i was herve ren i should have left immediately after africa cup, now he has lost good opportunities by working for ungreatful people who can afford to keep him like a school boy

if u are going to reap substantial amount of returns from ftbal investment stop complaining about tax payers money, paying a coach has two ways benefits 1, its public spending 2. its also future investment, so complaining about tax payers mmoney is poverty mentality, do you know how much income football can contribute towards the country’s GDP? Anyway i understand the levels of life zambia has reached

The ministry of Sports which is one of the most disorganised ministries in the country (this is a fact). The minister/PS should sort out this increasing embarassing situation. Hon. Kambwili should know that what goes around comes around. Stop harassing the coach and pay him his dues. How do you expect someone to be motivated if you have not paid them in six months. The only option is to quit. As soccer fans we want the coach to stay.

This is just a dig by Renard at the loud hippo aka kambwili! Renard kept this situation from the public but when the Great Hippo couldnt keep its thick lips together & issued childish threats to Renard, he decided to let the people know who the fool is! Kambwili has not yet come to grips with the fact PF are now in power. The guy is undiplomatic, arroganat, dull & useless! You should ve known by now that your role is to facilitate not sticking out your fat long fingers!

    some bloggers brains are small.
The sequence of events are that you work followed by being paid.
so pay the man whether he is staying or leaving is up to him. What more ,you have no argument you even got the AFCON.

The old fool Renard has run out of steam, energy, ideas and tactics. May be its high time we proved to him that he is irrelevant to the soccer aspirations of Zambia and Africa in general. Tactically incompetent and methodically poor!

Pay him his dues. 3 billion is a lot of cash to get any normal person wth plans frustrated. He hs bn patient to evn wait 6 months,hd it bn me,wld ve left on th 1st mnth. Cnt ve any govt owe me billions, thy r bad payers. Yes Zambians need to learn to respect and appreciate. These are two elements that are deficient in Zambians. Forget his trotting to mashanti and marriage..thts his private life as u entitled to urs pipo…let him gt his cash..if he wnts to go,we say our goodbyes like mature pipo…th kambwili-renard saga…thy wil sort thmslvs…let Zambia clean its name by payng him.
