EXPOSED: Why RUPIAH Can’t Trust NEVERS “ABEMBA NI AMAMBALA”
Nevers Mumba’s political woes continue to deepen as more details emerge on the relationship between former president Rupiah Banda and UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.
A source told Tumfweko.com that Rupiah is categorical about his attitude towards Bembas: “Abemba ni a mambala, Bembas are crooks”, he is said to have told Hichilema, who upon hearing this, simpered with approval. The former president, who together with William Banda and Boniface Zulu beat up late freedom fighter and former vice president Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe (a Bemba) at Kamwala (then called Luburma Market) in the 70s, went on to talk about how he did his best to avoid being too close to Bembas during his political life.
“He says his best friend of a long time is Vernon Mwaanga, a Tonga,” said one of Rupiah’s aides. However, Rupiah’s relationship with veteran politician Mwaanga has hit rock bottom in recent years. Matters came to a head when the former president’s son, James, threatened to beat up Mwaanga at Lusaka’s Polo Grill recently over the latter’s statement in his autobiography ‘The Long Sunset’, that Rupiah’s children were among people that were greedy and acquired an insatiable appetite for wealth during their father’s presidency.

“RB does not trust Bembas. He has no kind words for Kapwepwe, Justin Chimba, Valentine Musakanya, John Chisata,” said the insider, adding that Mumba was far from earning Rupiah’s trust, therefore.
Mumba is also facing lack of commitment and lukewarm attitudes among several MMD members who view him as an outsider who does not deserve the MMD leadership.
“There is the [Felix] Mutati group, which is not happy with the manner Mr. Mutati was portrayed as a traitor and unceremoniously forced to quit his position as leader of the opposition in parliament. This is a big group of MMD followers from Copperbelt, Lusaka, Northern and Muchinga provinces, who might not support MMD in elections,” the source added.
Other sources also claimed that former Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane was also not happy with Mumba’s ascension to the MMD presidency, which was characterised by too much bribery and “seducing” of delegates by Dora Siliya.

Tumweko you are liars like the Post. Such sensitive issues should be written with direct quotes from mentioned persons not ‘sources’. Its clear you have joined the PF / Post campaign of killing the opposition. CNP reacted to an unconfirmed fabrication from the Post. I am a daughter of a Bemba chief and there is nothing superior about Bembas and neither is there anything inferior about us. I am married to a Lozi man who is a very good human being and even a wonderful husband. We are not the only tribe with thieves as they exist across tribe lines and across races. This hatred you are preaching will turn arround and bite you fools on your black hairy arses! The government should also sit up and start shutting down blogs preaching and epitomising tribalism through articles. I’m not Bemba, I know a lot of Bembas, and one thing is for sure, the ones in GovernmentS may have stolen, but the ones who were not made their money the honest hard working way. This is being very tribalist and should not be condemned. Just because your mates you stole with are still eating well, should not make you a jealous person. Shame on all of you.

In UNIP, and MMD a lot of you stole (Bembas, Loziz, Tongas, Rat eaters, etc), but only the dull businessmen who lost it all are bitter that other clever tribes are still standing and you want to make noise. You ll know what you did, and you know how you acquired your wealth. When hard working men not in government made loot, you were all angry and would want to tarnish them.
