Nevers Turns To Zambians ‘It Is Up To Zambians To Get Concerned About SATA’s Appointment of Opposition MPs”
MMD president Nevers Mumba now says it is up to Zambians to get concerned about President Michael Sata’s appointment of opposition Members of Parliament to his government.
Dr Mumba who over the weekend stormed State house to seek an audience with President Sata over the appointment of MMD MPs to ministerial positions says it is not for him or his party to be concerned about the continued appointment of opposition members of parliament by President Michael Sata into his government but the Zambian people.
Dr. Mumba says although the party can be proud that it is being called back into government through its members of parliament, it is at a great cost to the country’s democracy.
President Michael Sata yesterday added two more MMD MPs to his government when swore-in Solwezi East MP Richard Taima and his Mkaika counterpart David Phiri as deputy ministers.
This is despite calls by the MMD leadership for its members of parliament serving in the PF government to resign or risk being expelled from the party.
Speaking to QFM News, Dr. Mumba says there is nothing wrong with President Michael Sata negotiating with the former ruling party over the MPs’ appointments, which he says was the case when he became vice president under late president Levy Mwanawasa.
Dr. Mumba reiterated that the National Executive Committee which was due to meet today will decide the fate of the MMD MPs who have defied the directive to relinquish their government positions.

Zambian govt is pathetic man! y cnt these pple take developmental issues seriously??? he keeps on adopting n shifting ministries blar blar, Sata for crying out loud can u develop the country n stop wastin our time, it really is embarassing whn we go 2 othr countries whr havin tarred roads n traffic lights is nt a luxury, n they only import food tht cn not be produced in the country. invite food manufacturing investors in the country, tht way u gonna provide more jobs n food!! adopt n make use of the vast land zambia has ne!! y do human beings easily lose focus whn in aurhority? this is the man we thot was gonna chnge zambia! ahh chilankalipa mwe.

Man of God you are now talking. Tell your MP’s that they can work in the government, but their allegience must remain with the party that sponsored them. Just expel ka Masumba and see if he will retain the seat. They should learn from the Livingstone seat.
Ba Sata ninkaka so you can’t win especially with Winter Kabimba by his side. This force will only be realised to be dangerous after things go beyond redemption. Go back in the closet and God will guide you.

The most interesting thing about this drama is that Sata has seen a weak spot in MMD and any tactician would definately hammer on such a soft spot until patulike! So cobra should continue hammering at that soft spot until mumba cries his lungs out! Mind you PF needs more support in parliament for its policies to go through including the constitution which is pending! This is because most opposition members are hostile and can just sabotage most of the plans for PF due to their insatiable bitterness and hatred for Sata!
Go on sata, confuse them, also try to check weak souls in UPND and if under 5 wants to expel them, we file an injunction in court! Simple! Check chimudala chaku mapatizya, and that one from chikankata as well as mulobezi constituencies!

MMD Mps are very weak and unprincipled that is why they are being poached by MCS. They are not in politics for service but for money. UPND Mps are very principled that is why pf has failed to get anyone of them. MMD Mps should they continue this way of accepting tricked appointments will go into oblivion permanently. nevers is a very inteligent leader but the party he is in may not sell him to Zambians.

I find it hard to understand the issue at hand here! I believe Ba tata ba Nevers was approached not in his capacity as NCC president but as a person with percieved ability to help lead the nation! Or maybe to consolidate the political teams in the country! Sata has also identified individuals he feels he can work with so finshi fyashupa? One, Dr. Mumba should not have issued any further statement on this subject of PF appointing MMD MPs.
Two, Dr. Mumba has proved that he did not consult widely on his decision to threaten his MPs and subsequently carry out Operation Sunday Storm at State House.
Three, the decision by Dr. Mumba’s MP to resign becuase of pressure from his deputy ministerial position is an act of spinelessness and cowardice. As a law maker himself he should hace realised that his appointment was consitutional. He is axctually telling us that should he be under pressure from his consituents he may step down as MP…..
