Cabinet Increase SATA’s Salary To K27 Million Per Month

Sata

Cabinet has increased republican President Micheal Sata’s salary to K27million per month.
Late Republican President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa also increased his salary just like former embattled former republican President Rupiah Bwezani Banda who increased his salary up to K13.6 Million per month.
Cabinet used the same percentage to arrive at K27million per month.

That is a fair amount considering that he is a civil servant.
    This is fair because:
    he does not pay for:
    accommodation
    food
    transport
    clothing
    utility bills

Plus he gets allowances, a pension, a house upon retirement, etc.
For 5 years of accumulating money he doesn’t need to spend:

    27mil x 12 = 324 mil
    324 x 5 = zmk 1,620,000,000.00

1.6bn money saved after 5 years.

Thats okey but why publicizing the president’s salary?

    July 26, 2012 at 4:45 pm

Imwe, 27 million is a lot of money for a person whose total expenses are paid for. He doesnot pay for anything, totally nothing and he accumulates allowances every now and then for travelling(on govt funds), attending meetings and even being in parliament. Let them also state his total allowances and othe expenditures paid for a president.

It is not fair to increase his salary by 100% when we also buy him everything! This time I am trully annoyed with these looters!
We cannot have such abuse of our taxes while roads remain untarred!
    Pathetic Fools!

Allowances are based on prevailing basic salary.27m sounds small but all his allowances will be based on that figure. if for example he’s entitled to 50% allowance for every trip made, he gets 13.5m everytime he treats his ass to a trip.

  30. Gaulani

    July 26, 2012 at 6:37 pm

27 million for someone who will not use that money for five years is not bad. Remember also that civil servants have got huge allowances than their monthly salaries. You would be surprised to see all the allowances the president makes in a month especially when he is travelling. Zambia is a poor country and considering the majority of people who earn less than $2.00 per day. My only concern is the hurry in increasing the president salary when he has been in office less than a year. This seems to be a working starategy for the ministers(Cabinet)to ask for an increase in their salary too. When they increase the president salary first, it will be difficulty for the president to refuse when the ministers ask for theirs to be increased soon or later.

More money into the president’s pocket.
This is ridiculousness. First they gave the poor a poor increament, later demanded that these poor pay their fellow poor heavily by dictating how much they should pay them.
Now they increase his excellence’s salary by one hundred percent.
What i know is an increase is necessitous in view of external pressure such as high cost of living.
The president pays no bills buys no food. His money is pocket money.

YOUR EXCELLENCE SHOW US YOUR LOVE BY REFUSING TO ACCEPT YOUR NEW SALARY.

The day RB took to parliament a bill to increase his and the cabinets salary, Sata made a lot of noise he even vowed that he would only increase his salary if all Zambians had 3 meals per day. I guess that bench mark has been achieved. At that time RB was asking for a 30% increament. Now Sata increased his pay by 100% and did not even bother to have a bill for presidential emoluments tabled in parliament for debate. And you have bloggers who do not see anything wrong with that. Its a shame how we Zambians allow politicians to take us for a ride…a big big shame. The day things will get worse, we will then try to start acting all revolutionary and yet we were there when things started going bad.
