GBM Defends Cabinet Composition ‘The Individuals Fought Hard For The Position’

Defence minister Geofrey Mwamba aka GBM

Defence minister Geoffrey Mwamba says the appointment of the current cabinet ministers should not be mistaken for nepotism because the individuals fought hard for the positions.
Mr. Mwamba says President Michael Sata cannot look outside for people to work with in his inner circle when he has people he worked hard with to remove the MMD from power.

Mr. Mwamba says whether it is nepotism or not, the allegations being made will not change anything because the cabinet ministers are already serving in government.

He wondered were those accusing the President of practicing nepotism expect him to place the people he closely worked with while in opposition.

The very error made by RBB. He antagonised all, but one, sectors of the Zambian society. He told them he never asked for their votes. He called them names, amambala. His eyes opened too late to the stark reality that he needed the other people to continue enjoying the spoils of being in Govt.
What GBM confirmed is nothing new. Kapwepwe and Chiluba must be smiling in their graves; for Bemba hegmony; Bemba loading it all on all the other tribes has always been their prayer. And this is their finest hour. Yet only the Tonga and the Barotse are tribalists.

dead frg its you who is shallow minded how do you expect someone to work with a stranger who doesn’t understand the party structure, separate ministerial positions which are political from technocratical ones people of southern province didn’t want to associate themselves with pf same with other places only a few individuals sacrificed beyond tribal lines and worked with Sata people like Lubinda, Shamenda, Chenda and few others and they have been given portifolios in govt. i will do likewise if i was in opposition then form govt through patience and hard work… keep on complaining and lets see if it will help

Then why appoint opposition MMD MPs as deputy ministers, did they also work very hard to remove their own party from power? And you Taima, Phiri, Mukata, Masumba and all you other traitors what national service are you in government for when we have been told in black and white that all ministers are in their jobs today because of working hard to remove the MMD from power. I think I will write a book documenting all your treachery, so that your children and many other Zambians should read for many years to come how you were an obstacle to the growth of democracy in this country; how you thought only of your stomachs and not your country; how your children were educated not from your hard work like many other Zambians but from contributions from poor Zambians in the name of taxes. My shame follow you and the generations that follow you for many years to come!
