EXPOSED: Negligence At Kabwe General Hospital As Doctor Certifies ‘Dead’ A Live Baby

Kabwe General hospital ward

Two weeks ago, a lovely lady passed on in Kabwe General Hospital after losing her newlu born twins at Ngungu Clinic. When she was finally reffered to Kabwe General Hospital by that uncaring nurse at Ngungu (in the company of male nurse Cephas), it was obvioisly late and even the quality of the handover is unethical.

The Doctor certifyng the death was unaware that this lady was a maternity case! The death certificate did and does not bear cause of death.
The hospital and that Ngungu Clinic staff were jittery when Postmortem was mentioned.

Dear Ministry of Health, are you aware that not too long ago there was a serious case of negligence at your KGH, which obviously supervises Ngungu, where a father from Chamuka complained that your Doctor certified dead a baby who was actually not, this case requires you to investigate and purge the health system in Kabwe.

These Gongas in public institutions need sending them where they belong, and for KGH, its not too far, Mukobeko. The lack of knowlegde and money should not condemn the public to unnecessary and clearly avoidable deaths. If you care I shall give you other names at Ngungu and Kabwe General Hospital.

Dissapointed Bereaved.

  1. The health system in zed is pathetic, it will only improve if the govt takes it seriously. 1. do background checks to make sure everyone is a qualified health practitioner. 2. they complain abt shortage of health workers n yet they hv microbiologists from

Thank you Railway Systems. The new hospital that you want to put in kabwe will reward us who offered our life’s productive youth to the service of railways.

docters are human beings and not machines, patient to Dr ratio is too wide.lets respect health workers, imagine one person seing 80patients from 8hr to 13hrs,and you expect quality? Anyway, without health workers, many of us can die…

IS IT TRUE THAT NEXT MONTH ZAMBIA RAILWAYS AND RAILWAY SYSTEMS OF ZAMBIA WILL JOINTLY DEMOLISH ALL HOUSES BUILT BETWEEN THE ZESCO 66KV TRANSMISSION LINES AND THE NATIONAL RAILWAY LINE STRIP RESERVE LAND (LESS THAN 50 METERS FROM THE RAILWAY LINE) BETWEEN CHAWAMA AND LILAYI IN LUSAKA?

@kapuli wa n g’ongo, is this true? I could not sleep when I read this! My cousin has built a house there and the family moved in last month. when he started building I warned him but he said the area Counsellor told him it was ok.

What a waste! Well maybe better lose the house than wait for a time when a serious train accident would happen that would lead to the train ploughing into such houses when the families are asleep.

@likaki nyau nyau…maybe your cousin thought thatZambia Railways might relocate the railway line and legalise the houses built just next to the railway line in Chawana and Lilayi ?

    August 6, 2012 at 3:14 am

Whaaaat? I knew it! My own uncle from CHAWAMA and many other people were sold plots in Lilayi Development Holdings land near Lilayi at K4.5m. The land owners fought running tear gas battles with the police and finally all the illegal builders who had shared the land and had started building were chased. Now the landowners have regained their land and have fenced it off and patrol it to avoid squatters!

Ha! Kuli Masaka , you remind me of a tramp who used to seen near Mindolo Miseshi in Kitwe, called Kuli Masaka. He used to wear old sisal Sacks he stitched together as clothes. This was in the early 70s. I also remember that there was another tramp named “TwI Figamba fya ma wire” in Masala in Ndola in the 70s also. Twi stitched pieces of cloth with wires and wore these as he moved about. I also remember a semi deranged man in the northend part of lusaka CBD who would lift women skirts and expose their nudity if they walked passed him. This wed In the mid 80s actually!

I was also told about a man at Kacholola in Eastern province who moved about in full nudity except for his hat!

Okay, let me get this straight. So, the headline is talking about a live a baby who was certified dead, then the article is talking about an adult who was brought in dead and was actually “dead.” @HB, I agree with you. I am very confused here. Is the blame on the Dr who certified “dead” a woman who was actually dead by the time they got to the hosp or the nurse who referred the patient late?..

    @ Umuntu mutwe
It defies the entire spectrum of logic to note that a person who calls himself Umuntu Mutwe is the same person who is thinking like someone with Spasmodic Dysphonia Complication! You sound sa if you are one of these quack doctors we have around who are tarnishing the image of our noble proffesion!
Such type of negligence where you certify someone to be in the state of Postal natal ceasation of vital body organs without capability of being resusitated is not only criminal but also an insult to thye Medical proffession!
Stop thinking like a lunatic you son of a grave digger! Wabe chimutoto bukulu swine!

Believe you me Zambian trained doctors are very competent and exceptional,I know what I’m talking about coz I’m in the health sector.its either the Dr is not Zambian or zambian trained or was probably drunk which is very unprofessional.
