Elias Mpondela Should Resign ‘We Are Tired Of Poor Results In Athletics’

Dear Editor,

The Zambia Athletics Association president Mr. Elias MPONDELA MUST RESIGN ON THE GROUNDS OF RESULTS IN THIS FIELD OF ATTLETICS. Zambia has been spending some hard-earned resources to sponsor some games like athletics and other Olympic-oriented games but no good results have been coming forth.

We have performed uselessly bad in almost all games being presided by Elias Mpondela and his executive members in almost all the international competitions we have participated in. Most of our Olympians from Zambia at the London 2012 Olympics were humiliated from the preliminary rounds, hence never recorded any medal even the one made from plastic.

Our boxers received serious donations of punches as though they were just picked from the street of Lusaka to go and participate in the Olympics. In judo, one of the Zambian participants portrayed a high profile skill of law breaking which led to his disqualification. The other Zambia athletes tried their best but their so called best was actually the worst in London. When I saw this Zambian athlete on the track, I thought he was using the opposite side of the track, but no he was just trailing by a big margin. In fact when you analyze the results of the Olympics, Zambia will surely be the last of all participants.

In fact the record keepers will find it easy to place Zambia both by result and alphabet. Now that Zambians the owner of the cash used to support ZAAA are interested in the good results but the worst opposite is happening, the Mpondela group must resign so that other people like the much experienced SAMUEL MATETE and others should try their best. We really appreciate the hardworking Elias for his best input, it’s only that his type of best is not enough to make tax payers happy for their cash and resources they commit to sponsor Mpondela and his athletes who have been shining examples of failed sports persons.

Finally, I know Mr. Elias Mpondela will really feel hurt by this comment, but we are also feeling hurt and embarrassed by the results they produce. So move on Mr. Mpondela move on, Zambia and Zambians need results, good results that will make us happy like the Zambia National Soccer Team.

We are soccer champions and the world is expecting a lot from us, but terrible results are surely not one of the world’s expectations of Zambia. Thank you Zambia.

Zambian lets wake up. Can someone tell me sure that in this country of ours over (13million )we cant get better athletics ? how where those picked anyway? we need more selection at district level, provincial level and so fourth. Ethiopians actually tap there talent from the villages most of them same with kenya.
I think Elias Mpondela has overstayed like what others have observed????

Mwefyungwamweeee. Bushe ni Mpondela abutuka? Who are the coaches, trainers, physiologists? Where are the facilities. What about personal discipline? All these factors contribute to our shody output.
You are in camp fuulluu nafi chibuku nobucende ati chase Mpondela! Ala!
Stop the blame game. Chi Soko kwati ni chi Zulu the psycho of UK.

Wait! Lets examin this man’s record closely: 1. At Duly motors. He would misrepresent the company by cheating customers that duly motors possesed facilities they didnt have. He was a con-man not a marketer. 2. Failed politician – after many years of serving in the MMD, he failed to win the confidence of his colleagues to the point were he couldnt be given an influencial leadership position. 3. Failed husband, he divorced some years ago. 4. Poor judge of character – he married a jazebel. 5. Failed manager – suwilanji gardens is now an eye-sore, back to its original state of being sewer. I couldnt even get a cold fanta the last time. 6. Failed manager reloaded?, NHA wil remember him as worst cardre to have ever been appointed. 7. Any suprises that zambia is failing in athletics????

@piki piki… is that what you skaed me to wait for? A personal attack at Mpondela? Silly!
The man does not own the athletics body as he did his wife. Recall also that Suwilanji Gardens was given to your Jezebel in court. Furthermore, the nursery for sportsmen/women are the schools. Go to any pri, sec sch, college or versity & tell me if you you will find a tripple jump pitch. Matete was picked from Nkana stadium during inter schools to become olympic champion. Imwe, nobupuba, you are attacking Mpondela instead of working with him to follow up govt. Mano yambushi ayooo.

Iwe kakolwe, uli kolwe sana jealous down. 2 positive things about mpondela. 1. He has a passion for athletics which is not so strong in me. Its a quality. 2. He has consistantly successfully organised intercompany relay. Beyond this, he has overstayed with no mention of elections in the horizon. Thats the point. Pipo who overstay annoy others and attract personal attacks as the only way to get rid of them. Wen was the last time u heard anything inovative frm him the last 10 years? He has every capability to organise schools athletics by raising funds as an association. E.g. Every school in zambia should be affiliated to ZAAA and pay a fee of k100pin per year. Which school even in the compound can fail to pay k100pin/year. The would just ask pupils to pay a k1pin each. With this in lusaka alone he can raise about k60m. Throughtout zambia we are talking âbout a billion plus. Govt can help him by law to compel the schools. With a budget like that, he can go a long way in organising amateur athletics. Workers at duly motor were the ones who were saying that he was doing a lot of lieing on TV regarding their services. My brother just bought an NHA house, NHA Builders/workers under mpondela are the biggest clowns in town. Yes his wife got suwilanji, but upto today mpondela stil brags about owning a lodge. So what does that tell u?

Yes together with Mirriam Moyo and Hazel Kennedy. They must all go. The two women at NOC are the biggest failures. We have seen women succeedding in other areas in this country. Not Mirriam and Hazel. They are the biggest let down….shame!!

WE NEED TO ADVERTISE ALL POSITIONS AND LET THE BEST ZAMBIANS RUN THE WHOLE MACHINERY INCLUDING GOVERNMENT. WE ARE TIRED OF NON PERFORMANCE AND SUB OPTIMISATION

Ba Piki-piki. Thats more like it. Positive points & sugestions. Does Mpondela have to go before all people involved start to think? Ngamuletontonkanya ifyo you can even drag the ‘doing’ Mpondela along. So, no personalisation but lets moce Zambia Forward.

Surely ZAA leadership requires total overhaul.Mpondela administration lacks vision.
Stakeholders remove this administrator without hesitation.
