Kabimba: I Will Hold Both Positions

Newly appointed Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba has vowed not to relinquish his party position as Secretary General of the ruling PF.

Yesterday, FODEP Executive Director MacDonald Chipenzi advised Mr. Kabimba to respect the constitution and give up his party position.

But Mr. Kabimba said in an interview that he is not abrogating any law by holding on to the two positions.

He said nowhere in the party constitution does it state that he could not be appointed into any ministerial position.

Mr. Kabimba said there is no need for him to give any of his two positions.

“I am a law abiding lawyer and I have not broken any law by holding on to these positions and I don’t have any intentions of relinquishing any of the two,” he said.

“I was elected into the PF Central Committee and President Sata appointed me as party SG and he has again appointed me as Justice Minister and there is nothing wrong with that.”

“For me this is a non-issue.”

Mr. Kabimba has since promised to state his priority areas as Justice Minister once he is sworn in.

There’s something wrong with the constitution of the PF. So the PF president has the same powers as those of the Zambian Republican President in that the incumbent appoints all others members of the NEC into various party positions just as the republican president appoints all members of his cabinet?

You Chaps HE MCS is the Republican President so is He the President of PF equally Guy Scot is the Republican Vice President so is He the Vice President of PF. Have they reliquished they Party positions? the answer is NO. So wat is the difference with Kabimba? No difference at all. He will keep the party position regardless of him being a Minister. VIVA Kabimba VIVA PF.

The suprising issue is Chipenzi posts a non topic & everyone shouts rubbish! Am no fan of Kabimba. His appointment worries me coz he has made a biased stand on constitution. What justice is this? Party & Govt are different.

I am not a fun of Winter Kabimba. But people are making this a big deal. Look at MMD, some people held two positions and no one called them to relinquish one. At the time it was normal. But now with Kabimba it has become a big deal. You are just building Kabimba by talking about the positions he is holding. Let’s see what he does with them people. Why are you all of a sudden scared?
