UPND Tell Sata To Intervern In PF Leadership Wrangles

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has called President Michael Sata to address the reported leadership wrangles in the PF party following the appointed of party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba as Justice minister.

UPND vice president for administration Richard Kapita has told QFM news in a statement that the reported wrangles in the PF party have the potential to affect the running of the government if left unchecked.

Mr. Kapita has indicated that the UPND has nothing against the appointment of Mr. Kabimba and has since congratulated him on his recent appointment.

Mr. Kapita Says the UPND hopes the new Justice Minister will ensure that the rule of law is respected in all areas of the country’s governance system.

And Mr. Kapita has also disclosed to QFM News that the Zambia Police Service has once again denied the UPND a permit to hold a rally in Mongu district this week.

This is the fourth time the Zambia police service is denying the UPND a permit to hold a public rally after the cancelled Kanyama and Chawama rallies in Lusaka.

Mr. Kapita has noted that the security concerns being raised by the police have nothing to do with the UPND planned rally.

He has appealed to Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba to intervene in the matter.

Mr. Kapita says the UPND will not allow the Zambia Police Service to continue denying them an opportunity to interact with the people at grassroots level.

TIZA , I am as amazed as you are. I thought UPND have enough problems on their plate, with HH, Banda and Nawakwi. They have serious organisational challanges and lack of leadership and the UPND VP has the audacity to dish out some advise!!!

@ Henrique – I agree. UPND has even issued statements ordering youths to ‘gand rape’ Nawakwi – I mean, that is bordering on treason and the entire UPND leadership should be jailed for discriminating against women – maybe when they are ‘made to be women’ (i.e. shagged by fellow men) on those jails, they will respect us…..

What UPND should be doing is ordering their own youths to gang-rape HH to teach him a lesson never, ever to insult women…..

looking at the happenings in mongu where they are torning the draft consitition and thats were the UPND whats to hold a rally leaves alot of qestion marks. UPND should act in the intrest of every Zambian if at all they love mother zambia and not to serve their motives, these kind of politics is deperessing me. Peace should not be taken for granted by anyone regardless of their political affliation its important to preserve the peace we have enjoyed and we need it so much. As politicians learn to act above politics and the people will follow you i am sure you are up to no good.

@tiza.. PF is ruling and any disturbances in the party will affect the perfomance of the ruling party negatively, instead of concetrating on developing the nation the leadership in the party will be wasting time fighting one another so UPND is right. We need development for now from PF.

Why deny HH from holding a rally Kwahe?

The UPND is wanting Sata to officialise the rumours that have been circulating with a response. They are cleverly asking “Is Nawakwi going to be the new VP?”

Why bring such a malicious rumour about this Veep issue. Dr Scott is a hard working person so why start rumour mongering like that. You attention seekers, just listen to Nawakwi’s sentiments and not bring rumours. We know the one who wants to be Veep is HH. As for Kapita’s advice,Atase bane, who should advise who? He should advise HH to accept the outcome of 2011 polls. Iye kuti wantampa ukutukana, I rest my case.

Whether you hate or love HH & his style of politics the undeniable fact is that Zambia Police & their handlers are going about the issue of UPND rallies the wrong way. Zambia is not under a state of emergency whereby constitutional freedoms have been suspended. The right to hold meetings and processions is part of the broader freedoms of expression, assemble & association which must not be lightly interfered with.

UPND can comment on PF and PF can comment on UPND. What matters is the tone of those coments. So far Kapita’s comments are mature. So why raise eyebrows? UPND can hold rallies everywhere in this country. It is only tribal parties that failed to compaign in Western, North-Western and Southern in 2006 saying “balya nimatako – buttocks, nibakaivotela mwine etc.” So UPND go ahead, go to western, North – western, Muchinga, etc

James you should accept my advise. When the wicked strikes the air it is the height of the innocent that suffers. To use a sarcastic language on a media like this one and expect no hindside brows is like eating nshima with two hands on a table with parents and still expect to go unwarned. Withdraw your words or a tick description wont be withdrawn on you. Have no ticks but I have seen them on dead cows’ skins. Unless James you want to behave like a frog that does not know that there two types of water until it jumps in hot water. Are a like a frog.

I respect the views of fellow bloggers above, but we need to understand this subject in a broader perspective. In most civilised democracies the Secretary General of a Political Party is the Managing Director of that Party, and an MD position by its nature is a permanent position. So if this also applies to PF, then PF members should worry about how effectively Wynter can organise and run their party affairs. And as citizens at large we also ought to worry about how effective an MD of a political party (or any other organisation for that matter)can be in his job as a Minister, which is also a permanent job!!This in short is how this matter affects Zambians in general, even those that are not members of the PF.
