PF: No Power Struggle In The Party ‘We wont be drawn into unnecessary panic over imaginary divisions which in reality does not exist’

The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party has dispelled assertion by some sections of the media alleging that there is a serious rift within the party.

This is according to a media statement released this morning by Patriotic Front (PF) Media and Publicity Director Chanda Mfula.

MEDIA STATEMENT
9th October 2012.
The rumoured claims of a power struggle are non-existent in so far as the PF is concerned because there is, currently, and in the foreseeable future, no vacancy in the position of president. All leaders in the PF and those in government positions are more concerned about delivering to the people of Zambia within the mandate given to the party, and will most certainly not do anything to sabotage that priority.

The Patriotic Front (PF) has remained united around the common purpose of serving the nation and no amount of media talk and speculation will derail it from its continued progress in implementing programmes aimed at promoting economic growth, employment creation and poverty reduction.
The PF is unmoved by daily comments in the media regarding some of its senior members as most of these utterances are coming from outside the party. Instead, the party is focused on its continued growth and in ensuring that the government delivers to the expectations of the Zambians.

It is important that the internal workings of democracy are allowed to run their course and as such the party will not be drawn into unnecessary panic over imaginary divisions which in reality do not exist.

In a mature and strong political establishment such as the PF, the emergence of different points of view on a number of issues at any level cannot be interpreted as divisions, but as evidence of an effective intra-party democratic mechanism.
PF members countrywide should not fall prey to any trap set by enemies of the party to cause disunity.

Chanda Mfula
Media and Publicity Director – PF

Continue implementing pf objectives. We need action oriented result 4 this mandate we have given u. Failure to achieve means to give other political party chance like narep.

They want to create animosty amongst us which they will not manage they can’t see Zambia beyond their secratariats. Shame on them.

Intelligent statement. Now GBM must grow up!!!

  4. nkhoma   October 9, 2012 at 12:39 pm

If this is the calibre of propagandists that PF has, then I agree with those that say there is very little substance in the PF.

  5. Munalula   October 9, 2012 at 12:44 pm

Nkhoma can u explain ur statement? u seem to have no substance yourself. Criticizing without thinking.

Mr Mtototo i fail to understand your cogitating or musing capability. You lamentably fail to check on the development of MMD in 20 yrs. What delopment are asking to see within 12 months of PF being in power?

The level of dullness and denial are amazing seriously you believe there’s no beef between the clowns, you are more clowny than the cartoons fighting in pf no wonder yaba

The power struggle within the Rwandese Patriotic Front is very obvious. Winter Kabinba thinks he is a think-tank for the success of the PF. And “Mighty GBM” thinks it keeps Patriotic Front financially. Lubinda in the back ground is also trying to position themselves. There is indeed a struggle within the leadership of the Rwandese Patriotic Front.

That is imaginary my brother there is no power strugle as you call it.The opponet of PF are the ones trying hard to ignite fire where there is no energy to make it burn. They are all bound to fail.

  13. MPUNDU   October 9, 2012 at 3:02 pm

    Ba mfula

The fight is there between GBM and Ba Kabimba. What you need to do is to convene a meeting and reconcile the waring parties and NOT to issue blank media statements. Please take into consideration the financial contributions GBM made to PF and Mr. Sata when they were in the opposition.

  15. isaac   October 9, 2012 at 3:52 pm

I hope and beleive this is a passing phase. All those wishing PF to fail will be toltally astonished cause PF will defenately going to deliver on its campaign promises. Why wishing them bad?

Apology to those who voted for me i thought it was easy rule… I have failed u people. Is it because my compain was based on lies, sorry forgive me

  19. Katwa   October 9, 2012 at 5:52 pm

Well. In some villages to say “Cikala” is not fighting indeed. Thats is how they live. Even a father can introduce his son or daughter that “Uyu cikala is my first born and this cikala here is my second born daughter”. So sometimes when GMB asks the journalist to go and find out from WK in a rude tone those of you who are not acustomed to this kind of behaviour you begin to misinterpret them. .

I think there is no infighting the party is performing well you should no that the party today is not a party yesterday because of so many forces in todays zambia, there are a lot of educated people in Zambia, free press and techinology i.e you have your own opinion as we are expressing our selves, what we need to known is our expression can sharp the destiny of the country,i think we need to focus on performance according to what they promissed in there manfesto

  21. likaki nyau nyau   October 10, 2012 at 5:54 am

Power struggle? They should be struggling to out perform each other so that HEMCS knows who to retain or fire when he returns from Tokyo.

  22. kapuli wa ng'ongo   October 10, 2012 at 5:59 am

@likaki I think you are right. All PF ministers are working so hard and this has made people think it is a power struggle. It is people working and striving to be seen to be working. Have you not noticed how well Hon. Kambwili is working for example?

Keep it PF ministers your hard work will not go unnoticed but carry on to serve the people graciously!

    • Shi Mwana   October 10, 2012 at 2:02 pm

Dear Kapuli Wa ng’ongo, Zambian people are not so gullible as you seem to imply. The reported power struggle or at least the alleged corrupt acts involving GBM & Wynter are in the public domain & are not a mere figment of people’s imagination.

  23. os   October 10, 2012 at 7:50 am

IT IS ONE OF THE EVILS OF THE WORST KIND FOR ONE TO WISH PF’S FAILURE AS AN EASY WAY TO COME TO POWER.ON WHOSE INTEREST ARE YOU DOING THAT? ONLY YOUR BELLY. THAT IS DEMONIC AND WE SHALL NOT ALLOW IT .POLICIANS IN THIS EVIL MISSION WE KNOW YOU.

  24. Biggie Smallz   October 10, 2012 at 8:01 am

PF is full of Power Hungry People who already assume that they will succed Sata. GBM and Kabimba are prime examples of power hungry people. Just resign you useless bastards. GBM go and lose some weight. Kabimba go and sort out yours issues with your father.

  25. Wanu Ngwee   October 10, 2012 at 9:58 am

Mfula’s statement is “cut and paste” from that of South Africa’s ruling ANC. But we know that there’s no smoke without fire… we also know that a poor man’s hell is a rich man’s heaven. So, go ahead and lie for only time will tell.

  26. The Seer   October 10, 2012 at 1:20 pm

Even if a power struggle did exist, would it be prudent to acknowledge it? Is the PF made up of people who can acknowledge their weaknesses? Ever since when have they ever agreed they have a weakness or a problem? It is naive of the electorate to expect the PF government to say,”Yes we have problem…” Only a humble person can do that.

  27. Shi Mwana   October 10, 2012 at 1:54 pm

The hitherto unknown spin doctor in the name of Chanda Mfula should just keep quiet if he has nothing sensible to parrot about. The instigator of the notorious power tiff between GBM & Wynter Kabimba is none other than the PF’s propaganda machinery, The Post Newspapers. So why is Chanda trying to deflect the glare of publicity from the storm which his own party manufactured and publicized? For Chanda’s own information, the reading public’s perception of the PF is a critical success factor in its ability to elicit support from its citizenry and deliver on the yet unfulfilled electoral promises.
