The Patriotic Front (PF) supporters are never short of the right slogans when it comes to the mood of the country at any given time. The famous “Donchi Kubeba”, which means “don’t tell them”, was born out of the general tendency by then ruling MMD to distribute money and other gifts to voters in exchange for votes.
The slogan was simply used to advise the electorate that even if they were given such gifts, they needed to still vote against MMD, after all, the vote is secret. It’s like saying: “get the gifts, but don’t tell them you will vote against them”.
The “don’t kubeba” slogan spread like wildfires across the country and helped catapult the PF into a national movement that eventually unseated the MMD after 20 years in power.
The PF recently grabbed its first ever seat in North Western Province after resoundingly beating the MMD-UPND alliance. That victory saw the birth of yet another catch phrase: “Seleni tubombeko”, which, when translated in English, means “stay out of our way, so we can do some work”. This slogan is inspired by the view that some opposition parties in Zambia are playing a disruptive role in their work against the PF government. The PF supporters are therefore advising the opposition to ‘make room’ for the PF government to exercise their mandate properly without standing in their way.
The slogan is also a reminder to the opposition who, prior to the Mufumbwe election, were claiming that PF had lost popularity and tempted the ruling party into the bye-election by expelling the area Member of Parliament. After PF’s convincing victory, the ruling party’s supporters feel that since the opposition has proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the PF remains the most popular party which has continued to grow, it’s time to respect the people’s choice and allow the ruling party some time and space to implement their programmes and policies.
As timely as PF slogans usually are, according to PF claims, it’s indeed time for the opposition to be told: SELENI TUBOMBEKO!!!

This is where you UPND prove yourselves as under fives. The so called Kaponyas make up more than 60% of our population. This population of Kaponyas consists of Gade sevens,Grade nines,Grade twelves,Graduates and professors. These are the people who vote. The majority of these Kaponyas are not Bembas, including I Kalu,a university graduate. To us bemba is just a language we grew up with on the streets on the copperbelt. So continue insulting us at your own risk of not growing as a party but confining yourself to Choma.

@true bantustans, why do you hate Bembaz so much? I believe you need to have your cow head checked. The low life, poorly dressed educated polygamist mentality wont take you anywhere near the corridos of power if at all you continue insulting potencial voters. You pipo need image builders and i believe not from unsa ’cause its full of you…try cbu. Remember Bill Gates is a college dropout and Obama is not stinky rich. Get a life and a real on this time.

The so-called ‘Bemba’party, PF has proved UPND, ADD and similar tribal parties that PF is the party for the majority non-tribal people of Zambia by winning, by a very large margin indeed, in Mufumbwe.
