Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua, well known for his expansive philanthropic endeavours, shocked congregants at his church, The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) on Sunday 18th November 2012 when it was revealed he has sponsored a Nigerian student to study a PhD in the University of Oxford to the tune of £100,000, approximately N26 million.
Miss Yinka Oduwole, who introduced herself as one of the youth who was brought up in The SCOAN and worked there extensively, testified how she had gained admission to study a PhD in Engineering Science in Oxford University, UK after a successful Master’s Programme in University College London (UCL). Yinka, who was equally sponsored in her Master’s Degree in Broadband Communication in UCL in which she came out with a distinction, said Prophet T.B. Joshua and Emmanuel TV Partners had paid the sum of £100,000 to enable her to study for a PhD in the prestigious Oxford University.
“My advice to youth all over the world is that they should pray as if everything depends on God and work as if everything depends on them,” Yinka, also a First-Class graduate from the University of Lagos, told the congregation and viewers worldwide on Emmanuel TV, equally counselling the youth to find a job in the church and actively engage in godly activities.
TB Joshua also revealed in the service how footballer Ogenyi Onazi, the SS Lazio starlet who was recently promoted to the Super Eagles of Nigeria and scored on his debut against Venezuela, was brought up in the church and worked there as well before attaining his current sporting success. Joshua revealed how he had sponsored Onazi and his colleague Sani Emmanuel to trial in clubs around the world including Premier League giants Chelsea and Tottenham, before arriving in SS Lazio, where he is currently playing for the senior team. Joshua revealed that close to $1m was spent in this process, to ensure the duo went to the right club to reach the heights of their potential.
According to Joshua, the reward for raising up such young people to become leaders of tomorrow in every field of expertise is immeasurable in monetary or material terms. “What you make happens for others, God makes happen for you. You are raised to raise others,” Joshua exhorted the crowd, counselling them to consider the future of their own children and what they were doing with their lives.
Forbes estimated that Joshua has spent up to $20m in charitable activities alone in the last three years. Thousands of less privileged students are currently studying in universities across Nigeria and around the world courtesy of SCOAN’s scholarship program.

Beware of false prophets who will entice you with gifts. “……for what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul…”

Harrican Sandy, Give credit where it is due. Am sure you belong to one of the pentecostao churches here in zambia. most of our pente pastors are very rich but they keep all the wealth to themselve. i heard one (church name withheld) saying in his sermon that he has countless shirts and suits unused and he did not know if he when he will finish them all bcoz he keeps receiving more. Why not give some away. T.B. Joshua apart from the healing and prophesy (this is where most pente pastors hate him) help humanity in terms of daily needs. That is real christianity. Love and care for others. If he was a false prophet many of his predictions would not have come to pass.

To God be the glory for such works by the man of God. Being a preacher is not jst abt preaching Gods word. One must also be action oriented. Thank God once again for this man He has raised.

Faith without works is dead,”Show me your work and i will show you my faith” (The Bible. This is true faith, honestly there are very few people who do such works of charity in the world today. Leaders of charity organisations diviate monies meant for the poor into their own pockets, But TB Joshua gives it generours although he has the option to use it selfishily and no one would question him. This is commendable job and I urge men of God in Zambia to emurate TB Joshua. This is faith in action.”Give it shall be given good measure, pressed and shaken together and it runs over” (Malachai 3). Praise the LORD!!!

Most of you who are commenting in support of TBJ are not true PENTECOSTALS. Thats why you can not see what is wrong with TBJ. In as much as I know the person SALAYANDAVICH is talking about, I would rather he prays for me than TBJ. He may not be perfect, but at least he has the call of GOG upon him. Most of these churches you are seeing nowadays are not pentecostal, its counterfeit – ONLY A MATURE PERSON CAN SEE THAT. Take a closer look at most followers of TBJ, they are either not born again, backslidden christians or immature christinas. It does not mean that if a prophecy comes true, then its from GOD. Remenber that girl in the book of Acts. Am sure people like SALAYANDAVICH would argue if told that BENNY HINN IS a ROMAN CATHOLIC Jesuit Priest. Yes, these people could be MEN OF GOD in their own right, but please do not associate them with PENTECOSTALISM/EVENGELICALS.

Better than a lot of pastors we have here in Zambia who always enrich themselves by getting what belongs to the poor. Your actions will catch up with you one day. God sees your evil acts. May God richly bless you TB Joshua.

Mumba tellme:
1. if you are born again
2. how you got born again
3. when you got born again
4. why you got born again
5. where you got born again
and above all, your stand in the lord. The answers to the above will determine why you can not see what is terribly wrong with TBJ. Read the second point by Hurricane Sandy!

its sad that even Christians want to base their faith on know how, going to a church because of its reputation or name is not going to save you, it is your relationship with GOD that will, do not condemn something because you do not understand it or because in your mind it is implausible… God is not a respecter of persons and his ways are not ours, some of us post comments that portray a lot of self righteousness, but know this; we only fool ourselves, not God.

Giving is of God, unless oterwise the pastor is leading with example. It takes grace to part away with such a huge sum of money for a brother.

Gabriel! those questions are not necessary. I am a full fledged catholic and i have gone thru all the procedures in the catholic faith. After all these i have become more than born again and not an overnight issue.
I always see the power of the holy spirit in the works of TB Joshua. It is that same power which moves him to do the things we see him do.
The time is coming when you will not say anything bad about the works of this man of God because he will do greater things than what you are seeing now. There is nothing too difficult with God.

some people will say negative things about this man without knowing they too needs deliverance. These are the ones who roam the streets, problems in their homes, no progress and have no idea what has happened to their lives, they have no idea what they are supposed to do or be in life.
The devil will use you to say such things to keep you away from your blessings, this is a reality we see these things happen.
