Lubinda Breaks Silence: Those Calling for my Expulsion from PF are Immature
Foreign affairs minister and Kabwata member of parliament Given Lubinda has finally broken his silence and has contended that those who are busy calling for his expulsion or resignation from the party on grounds of alleged treachery are simply immature and failing to show respect for the due disciplinary process that is underway within the party.
Lubinda has added that the allegation made against him is an internal party matter that has not yet become a public matter and that people should allow the disciplinary committee to make its final decision after which the issue will be suitable for public consumption. The Kabwata parliamentarian reiterated that he remains a custodian of his own morals and that whereas he subscribes to the biblical teaching of being your brother’s keeper, he is unfortunately not able to be a custodian of other people’s morals.
Given Lubinda has in the last few weeks seen an increase in calls for him to be either expelled and altogether push him to resign from his government office as well as step aside from representing the people of Kabwata. Some sections of the ruling party are reportedly pushing for the removal of Mr. Lubinda from the PF on allegations of treachery. It is held within circles of those calling for his expulsion that Mr. Lubinda has been secretly conspiring with opposition members of parliament to fight the PF government, an act which has seen him characterized as a spy and traitor within the ruling party.
Contrary views emerging from the party have however continued to suggest that the allegations leveled against Mr. Lubinda are discredited and malicious and certain sections are of the view that Lubinda has become subject of calls for expulsion owing to the formidable potential threat that he may be to Justice minister Wynter Kabimba who is reportedly posturing to take over from president Sata when he decides to retire. As a result of the contrary views to the allegations of Mr. Lubinda’s treachery against the PF, the Kabwata MP is increasingly being perceived as a mere victim of political purging owing to the threat he presents to Mr. Kabimba’s perceived ambitions.
With Saturday the 27th of January drawing near, it remains to be seen whether the ruling party will be gutsy enough to expel Lubinda and face the predicament of facing an MP who is widely believed to be a darling of the electorates of the constituency that he represents. Other sources have as a matter of opinion argued that since PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba is perceived to be firmly in support of Lubinda’s expulsion, then he should be given the enormous challenge of standing against Lubinda and retain the seat for PF should Lubinda be expelled, a challenge which may not be too desirable for anyone alive to Lubinda’s appeal in the corners of Kabwata.

As a resident of mr Lubindas constituency i say ‘viva Lubinda’ expelled or not,we are behind you.it is clear that wynter is hungry for the big position in the party…is’nt he the same guy who’s known to have differed with defence minister Goddfrey?such leadership is indeed immature and quite frankly,incompetent.mr mr Kabimba is a disgrace to the legal fraternity!

Mr Lubinda God is with you & He’ll vindicate you. Thank God for not hiting back at your accusers because the battle belongs to the Lord. This situation could be a blessing in disguise. If you are expelled, God will still help you to retain the seat. Be of good cheer Hon. Lubinda, you have served PF faithfully & remained loyal even when the rebel MPs ditched PF to participate in the NCC.

From the time kabimba was appointed justice minister,PF has never been the same ie in fighting,accusations etc.In my view,kabimba must relinguish one of his posts ie its either he concetrates on party affairs or he concetrates on his as a minster of justice even though it would be more prudent for him to step down from his gornvenment post so that he clears his name with the ACC without undue influence.How possible will it be to prosecute a justice minister?will it be a legal judgement?PF will start losing credilbilty soon as long as kabimba is still secretary general.Anyway thats my oppinion subject to constructive criticism.

Given is one of the few gifts from God,like his name suggests that we are plivaledged to have in Zambia. The man had sacrifised a lot for PF when they were in opposition and us the reasoinable thinking zambians will not forgive the PF if they do any treachary just because he is a threat to others. If he has qualities of a president then the onous is on those afraid of him to compete with him and let the zambian populace be the judges. Lubinda is certanly not guilty and I pray that that the judgement to be reached!

what ba Sata should always bare in mind is that not only cadres go to vote, we voted for Given and the man has leadership qualities. William Banda was Rupiah Banda’s downfall and batata ba sata if he is not careful Wynter will be his downfall.
