Be Tolerant, Lungu Urges Christians

Defence minister Edgar Lungu has urged people of different faiths, religion and race to be tolerant of one another.
During the Greek Orthodox Easter celebrations organised by the Hellenic Association yesterday, Lungu said without Christ dying for mankind, Christianity would have no real meaning.
He said Easter was an important and sacred event on the Christian calendar and called on Christians and non-Christians to be tolerant of one another.
He applauded the Greek community in Zambia for the commendable job they were doing and urged them to continue with the spirit of oneness.
Lungu said the resurrection of Jesus Christ gave man hope that he would live after death.
“Believing in the Christian faith is one thing and being a Christian is another. Easter marks the rebirth of our faith and victory that Christ has risen,” Lungu said. Kabwata PF Kabwata member of parliament Given Lubinda, former commerce minister in the MMD Felix Mutati and Sakwiba Sikota attended the event.
Meanwhile, information minister Joseph Katema has called on Christians to support the work of the church in uplifting the living standards in communities.
Katema said the commitment of the church in helping communities was in line with the PF government objective of improving people’s lives.
Katema was speaking yesterday when he officiated at a fundraising braii for St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church’s regiment parish in Lusaka.
Katema, who is also chief government spokesperson, said the church and government were inseparable partners in development.
“The two share a common goal and a common destiny of service to the people. There is no other better way to show our appreciation for what God has done in our lives…than supporting this work,” said Katema. And St Charles Lwanga parish priest Fr Timothy Lubunda said the funds were for construction of the office block which was gutted in August last year.
Fr Lubunda said the office block would include facilities such as four classrooms for catechetical programmes for the parish, eight offices and a recording studio.

    I hear ya.
    Radical Muslims, Evangelical Jesus Jihadists.
WHO can tell them apart ???

How about for the people who do not wish to follow Christianity? How about those who aren’t afraid to think for themselves & do not need religion to get them through life?
I hate intolerant religons trying to tell the world how horrible everyone is unless they get “saved”. Give me a break.

Religion will not save someone but Jesus Christ. A fool will think in his mind that there is no God. This is the creator of all things one has, knows, sees, learns and yet to. Do u hav a life? Who created it? Sin no more and be recreated.
