Kitwe Man Tells Court: ‘I Stabbed Him Because He Insulted Me’

THE Kitwe Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 31-year-old man of Kitwe’s Kapoto to 18 months imprisonment with hard labour for unlawful wounding.
This is in a case in which Kelly Mwape is charged with unlawfully wounding Christopher Mwango.

When the matter came up for plea before senior resident magistrate Daniel Musonda on Tuesday, Mwape admitted the charge.
“I stabbed him because he insulted me,” Mwape said.
Particulars of the offence are that Mwape on April 5 this year in Kitwe, unlawfully wounded Mr Mwango.
Mr Musonda convicted and jailed Mwape on his own unequivocal plea of guilty.
Facts before the court were that on the fateful night around 21:00 hours, Mr Mwango was on his way home when he met Mwape.
The court heard that Mwape stopped Mr Mwango and asked him to buy him some beer.
The court heard that Mr Mwango told Mwape that he did not have any money but he produced a knife and stabbed Mr Mwango
The court heard that Mr Mwango sustained injuries on his chest and forehead.

    Fool,you need more years than 18 months in jail,how cn you stabbe your friend over beer.
