PFsecretary-general Wynter Kabimba has called on the party in Mwansabombwe to reconcile with Mwata Kazembe of the Lunda people in Luapula Province.
“None of us has the right to insult the Mwata. Not even President Sata has insulted the Mwata,” he said.
Mr Kabimba said President Sata does not treat the Mwata as an enemy of PF.
“President Sata tells us to respect chiefs, so it is disappointing that PF here is at loggerheads with the Mwata. Reconcile with the chief,” he urged.
Mr Kabimba said President Sata is promoting reconciliation.
“This spirit of unforgiveness must stop. Sata is a forgiving man. If you can’t forgive Mwata, then you can’t also forgive your fellow members,” Mr Kabimba said.
He explained that the differences between Mwata Kazembe and the PF are retarding development in Mwansabombwe.
Mr Kabimba said PF must have a good relationship with everyone, including government officials.
He said the Bible is clear on respecting leadership.
Earlier, Mwansabombwe PF district chairman Geoffrey Chipampata told Mr Kabimba that PF and the Mwata are sworn enemies.
And Chief Mwata Kazembe said it is good that the PF government is taking time to visit people on the ground countrywide.
The traditional leader said running a country cannot be done by remote control.
“This is how it ought to be. Don’t operate by remote control. Get down to the ground and see for yourselves what goes on. Don’t rely on reports,” the Mwata said.
Chief Mwata Kazembe was speaking here yesterday when PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba (left) visited him at his palace.
The chief said he was very happy to see Mr Kabimba.
“It is imperative that Government officials visit traditional leaders. I’m pleased to receive you,” he said.
Mr Kabimba said he had been tasked to take President Sata’s goodwill message to the chief.
“Your Royal highness since the PF came into power, we have not visited you,” Mr Kabimba said.
Mr Kabimba who is also Minister of Justice was accompanied by Luapula province deputy minister Benson Kapaya and Home Affairs deputy minister Nickson Chilangwa.
Mr Kabimba held a closed door meeting with the Chief for over two hours.

the pf govt is notorious for disrespecting chiefs. First it was my chiefs madzimawe and nzamane, one chief from northwestern who had differences with her sister; also a chief, senior chief kalindawalo mr mumba, chief jumbe who was told by sata that he even knew what chief does in his bedroom, chief chitimukulu whom sata has blocked from occupying the palace by deploying zp, paramount chief mwata kazembe: this is the chief who has experienced the worst harassment by pf govt, attemps have been made to destabilise paramount chief gawa undi of the chewa but this move will fail due to oneness of chewas. The list is endless. Sata thinks that my king, mpezeni is popular among the ngonis: the guy has little or no influence on us- mark my words.
