Kabimba: It’ll Take Time to Correct MMD’s Damage to Economy
WYNTER Kabimba says it may take time for the PF to correct the damage caused to the economy by MMD.
Addressing a meeting in Gwembe district, Kabimba, who is PF secretary general, said the country had lagged behind because of poor leadership and selfishness of the previous government.
“You are suffering because you had a government that didn’t care about its people. This country lost 20 years of development under the MMD. Our people complained and they continue to complain. We want to change that. That’s Michael Sata’s vision. We can’t correct wrong things done in 20 years in one or two years. It takes time. People must exercise a lot of consideration to ensure that this country moves forward,” he said.
“This government is a people’s government and we must respond to the needs of the people. Even with scarce resources, we will do our best. Expectations of our people are high, so it’s only fair that we give government time,” he said.
Kabimba said it was important that the party and government work together to enhance development. He said all government programmes were prescribed and supervised by the party.
Kabimba also said Kabimba said he was the way to President Michael Sata. He encouraged people to use him to channel their messages to President Sata.
Kabimba said everything he got from different parts of the country was reported to President Sata.
“I’m an envelope for President Michael Sata. You put your message in me and I will deliver it to the President. I am one of you. So use me to take your problems to the President and he will act,” said Kabimba.
This was after Southern Province PF chairman Daniel Munkombwe said Kabimba was President Sata’s confidant.
Munkombwe said while ministers were close to President Sata, Kabimba was a confidant of the President.
“Wynter Kabimba is a confidant of President Sata. There’s no doubt about that. We are also confidants of the President but there are people that are very close to the President and Kabimba is very close to the President,” said Munkombwe.
Gwembe district commissioner Beene Mwiinga said residents were in support of governments’ developmental projects.
Mwiinga said PF was the first government to construct a district hospital and showed commitment on completing the Bottom Road.
“We have received relief food and the hospital is almost complete. People are happy because they are seeing what their government is doing,” said Mwiinga.

Foolish Kabimba, he found a thriving economy, gud exchange rate and so many gud things and all his incompetent govt cud do was to borrow and steal the money kwamana.
