UTH Recorded 412 Cases of Defilement From January to April 2014
The University Teaching Hospital (UTH) recorded four hundred and twelve (412) cases of defilement from January to April 2014.
UTH Spokesperson Mwenya Mulenga has told QFM News in an interview that March recorded the highest number of defilement cases at one hundred and eight cases.
Mr. Mulenga says the age group of the defiled children was between eleven and fifteen years.
He explains that the figures are based on the cases reported to the institution and do not include those cases which were not reported.
Mr. Mulenga notes that there has been an increase in the number of defilement cases received by the country’s biggest hospital.

I think you are out of your mind to think at this era of people in Lusaka are still practicing virgin cleansing because everyone has information on HIV and AIDS. Get back home and be updated. Anyway, its people like you whom still suffer from inferiority complex in regards of being an African.

this is unacceptable..it means 103 kids are been defiled every month,three kids been defiled every day and 1 kid been defiled every eight hours and authorities are quiet. how many of this 412 have been prosecuted or jailed?

Do not only put the blame on men because most these kids who are defiled even lie about thier age. Too much Telemondo watching. When I was a kid we only used to watch ZNBC hence our minds were not as corupted as the minds of today’s kids.

Aids cure beliefs fuel child rape in Zambia

LUSAKA – A myth is fuelling a heinous crime across southern Africa.
It goes like this: if you want to succeed at work or cure yourself of Aids, you need to have sex with a minor or one of your own children.
The result has been a surge in reported cases of child rape
Almost every day, Zambian newspapers carry chilling tales of child rape — tales that are depressingly familiar to readers of the South African press, where the only consolation may lie in the fact that they are not quite so frequent.
Some blame traditional healers, whom most people turn to for medical advice, not least because so few can afford a doctor.
“Traditional healers are misleading some rapists that HIV infection can be reversed if a man has sex with a minor… it is a tragedy and something that is endangering the lives of our children,”
“Once we had a case of a father who raped his one-and-half-year-old baby,”
Study had found that some men rape their children after visiting traditional healers who advise them to have sex with a daughter or young female relative to boost profits in their businesses.
“Some men also believe that they will get promoted at their place of work if they have sex with a minor…our children are not safe because rapists are now within our families,” she said.
“The story of an 11-year-old girl who died after being raped repeatedly by her half-brother prompted a national awakening on the subject.
“It is distressing to see what damage is caused to children …some are infected with HIV, their (future) fertility is affected and some are brought to the hospitals with full blown Aids after being raped by parents,”
