Two Chinese national have allegedly beaten a native of Chitimukulu whom they employed as a guard at ukusefya pa ngw’ena site to death. Headman Koni has confirmed that the Zambian national was battered to death yesterday.
The particulars of the matter are that on Sunday 9th August, Chinese who have being contracted to work on the arena and to erect stands found some items missing and assumed the deceased stole the items.
It was alleged that while questioning the security guard about some stolen items the assailants out of rage pounced on the victim with bamboo sticks and battered him in to death in the presence of a co-worker who narrated the incident.
After seeing that the security guard had died the Chinese national decided to flee the scene but local police were tipped off to mount road blocked. The murderers fled the crime scene heading towards Kasama but someone alerted the police in Mungwi who quickly intercepted the culprit and nabbed him. The deceased Evaristo Chileshe has left behind a wife and three children.
Meanwhile the deceased is lying at Kasama General Hospital mortuary.
The behavior of the Chinese towards employees has now reached an alarming rates with the recent incident of a Chinese who was deported from Kenya for making racial comments to this recent inhumane killing of a Zambian. The government should put strict rules to deter would be offenders.
