Zambian DNA is extremely shocked that some disgruntled elements have continued to insult and demean the Republican President Edgar Lungu.
Surprising, the said disgruntled elements have continued to do so at the time when President Lungu recently delivered his watershed speech on the application of national principles and values.
As a matter of fact, we expect every citizen regardless of their status in society, political or religious affiliation to respect the Office of the President and the person who occupies it.
It’s unfortunate that the UPND-led Alliance leaders are the ones in the forefront of disrespecting President Lungu and other Government officials.
The vulgar and crude remarks attributed to the Alliance’s spokesperson, Sean Tembo, and some media outlets hostile to Government’s editorials defy the national principles and values the Head of State espoused recently in his watershed address to the National Assembly.
We are now calling upon the law enforcement agencies to enforce the law that protects the Office of the President and the person who occupies it.
