Some Lusaka residents have appealed to President Edgar Lungu to intervene in the prevailing high mealie meal prices which most of them cannot afford.

The residents have vowed to vote out the Patriotic Front Government in 2021 if they do not work towards reducing the prices of food especially mealie meal.

Those talked to by Hot FM News lamented that the high prices of mealie meal have resulted in some of them failing to afford three meals a day.

A check in selected parts of Lusaka found a 25 Kilogram bag of roller meal selling between K100 and K119 while breakfast is selling between K128 and K135 respectively.
