Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has clarified that his office has the mandate to preside over the affairs of the province.
Commenting on criticism by various stakeholders condemning the Lusaka Provincial office’s interest in the affairs of the Ministry of General Education following his involvement in the demolition of retirees’ extension houses at Munali Secondary school recently, Mr. Lusambo says the move is not political but a way of ensuring that all those in the process of retiring start to prepare for their retirement.
Mr. Lusambo explained that the duty of the provincial administration is to implement government policies which come from line ministries.
He further explained that the provincial office is not alone in the eviction of retired teachers but is working closely with the involved line ministry which is the ministry of general education.
And Mr. Lusambo has rubbished accusations that he and other top government officials are interested in the Munali School land.
