Silvia Saige worked hard at school, went to university and landed herself a top medicine job working in radiology.

Despite spending her days helping people and making them feel at ease, she knew that she wasn’t happy and it’s time for a change.

She moved to LA to pursue her passion for stand-up comedy, but after a few months she made another huge move that would change her life forever – signing up to become an adult film star.

The 35-year-old loves her job, and can make more than £1,000 for just a few hours work, but the impact it has had on her parents still really upsets her.

Speaking to Mirror Online, she said: “The hardest part is knowing that my family are dealing with my career as much as I am. I want my parents to be just as proud of me as they were when I was working in medicine.

“I never wanted my parents to feel like failures. I have a college degree.

“I had plenty of options but I chose s-x. That bothered a lot of people including my family.

“I would love for my family to be proud of me and introduce me as their daughter who works in s-x, rather than having to go to family reunions and pretend I’m someone else.

“I’m proud of what I do.”

At first her parents were extremely against her decision but Sylvia says they are now slightly more accepting.

“My father is more understanding than my mother, my mother has religion. Obviously he says that as his daughter he wishes I wasn’t doing it.

“He understands that I’m safe, happy and making good decisions for myself. We don’t talk about the details.

“There is nothing about my life that is private any more. Everything is there for the public to see. It’s very freeing.

“It’s nice knowing that there is nothing anyone has on me because I have put it all out there.”

Silvia’s work in the adult industry has opened lots of other doors for her, and she now also hosts her own show and co-hosts a s-x podcast.

She desperately wants to help get rid of the negative connotations around s-x and the adult film industry.

She said: “I made it my mission to start talking about s-x. We put so much shame around it. So I’ve just been talking sex with everybody.”

Sylvia has been working in the adult movie industry for five years, and says it is now just completely normal to her.

She now does between three and five shoots a week, and can earn about £1,000 a time.
