Mr. Nkhuwa says those complaining about the high electricity tariffs that will soon be imposed on consumers when Zambia begins to import the 300 Megawatts of power from South Africa are free to switch off their main switch yards and remain in power black outs as Government will not force anyone.
Mr. Nkhuwa says Government is still in talks with the South African Government on when exactly they will start the importation of power.
Meanwhile, German through the KFW Development Bank has signed a grant agreement of EUR 41. 5million with the Zambian Government for the rehabilitation and extension of Chishimba falls hydro power plant in the Northern Province.
The project will see the construction of a new power station with a foreseen total capacity of 15Megawatts that will add support to the current power shortage
