Statement On Pres. Lungu’s Commitment To Mitigating Hunger Situations

November 13, 2019

It’s gratifying to note that the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) is distributing food relief in line with President Edgar Lungu’s directive that no Zambian should die from hunger.

Zambian DNA is also elated that DMMU in the company of some of the foreign diplomats accredited to Zambia recently went to Western Province’s Shang’ombo district to check on the hunger situation.

The fact that DMMU went to check on hunger situation in Shang’ombo shows that President Lungu and his Government are concerned and committed to mitigating the hunger situation in the country.

It’s also worth noting that Government has started working on the Mongu-Limulunga Road that not only leads to the Litunga’s Limulunga royal Village, a place where the tourist attraction Kuomboka ceremony is held annually, but is also an economic road that connects farmers to the market
